![]() Over this past month, there has been an unending barrage of political and economic news. The election is heating up and both the liberals and conservatives are digging into their respective ideological trenches which will make the next five months of mainstream news insufferable to watch. Even a person who is fascinated with this topic and has a master’s degree in media studies has found the news in 2024 mostly divisive and ideological. There is only so much an individual can take on social media of Trump defenders fighting with the pod people liberals over how evil the “orange man” is. Because of this, my motivation to blog and do research on my next unannounced project has grinded to a halt due to writer’s block. Sometimes, your brain just needs a break. A couple of short tidbits. Understanding that the economy in the United States is a horrifying disaster right now as China, Russia and India make their push to officially create their alternative to the US dollar while Americans are distracted over a kangaroo trial involving an ex-president/reality show host, it may be hard to leave the house and travel this summer. Wallets are getting increasingly thin due to inflation. Gas prices are on the verge of exploding once the US reserves are drained which will make flying or taking a road trip pretty expensive. But even if it is just to camp an hour away or to visit an amusement park one state over that you have always wanted to attend, I think it is important to travel. The world seems to be heading into a dark place. It is important to schedule some time away and gain some new, mentally fresh experiences. My wife and I just got back from a seven-day cruise on Holland America to my 40th State (Alaska) which also involved a short layover in Victoria, BC, Canada. In October, I will be taking another cruise in the Mediterranean to see Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Italy (And possibly Albania). Counting this recent trip to Alaska, I have now been to 40 of the 50 United “States” and have gone to eight foreign countries on two continents (Four in the Caribbean). After this autumn trip to the Mediterranean, it will be twelve or thirteen countries visited on three continents. Our recent push to travel has been motivated by the state of our present-day world. Even though my wife, kids and I live a pretty comfortable upper middle-class lifestyle, it also feels like one job loss or bad financial investment could put an end to our travel plans very rapidly. Plus, traveling has been proven to be beneficial to enhance your mind and soul and gets you out of the routine of the 9 to 5 work lifestyle. If you enjoy seeing new places and having new experiences, then go to that city or National Park you have always wanted to experience. My wife and I are preparing to tighten the screws and live a much simpler lifestyle soon if our prediction about the economic state of the United States comes true. So, we are enjoying ourselves until that moment when we longer can. Finally, I have mentioned previously that I support multiple independent journalists and podcasts on Substack, Rumble, and Patreon. On Matt Taibbi’s RACKET NEWS and Michael Shellenberger’s PUBLIC websites both hosted on the Substack platform, they have begun posting stories that further their investigative articles published last year called the TWITTER FILES. Called the Censorship Files, these are articles published after FOIA requests were made that helped clarify much of the information that Elon Musk leaked to them a few years back regarding X/Twitter. In the 20th Century, the mainstream media would have talked about these investigative stories for months. Scandals would have flooded the news, and many government workers would be contemplating jail time. But not in the 21st Century where obvious corruption will likely get you promoted. Now that we live in a propagandistic media environment where criticism of the government is virtually outlawed, there has not been any attention paid to these incredibly important stories of government/corporate collusion which is illegal based on our Constitution and historical legal precedents. If you want to read these stories and are not subscribed, click NO THANKS on the Racket News link provided above and this will unlock all the stories. On Public, the most disturbing story about the CIA and how it took control of Twitter is paywalled. Racket has a summary of the full details regarding that horrifying story. This is just more evidence showing how far the United States has fallen from our Founders' Constitutional ideals into an oligarchical and authoritarian society. At some point, I hope that Americans band together and do something about these individuals that are actively destroying the American dream. I will be back with another story in a couple of weeks. As mentioned above, get out and travel and try to free your mind from the overwhelming media barrage of information. Enjoy the things that are important to you and try to make that your priority before the madness of our Autumn elections takes over our national discourse.
